CRM – High Pressure roller mill
High-pressure roller mills are used for grinding hard materials such as ceramics, abrasive materials, minerals in the upper limits of hardness according to the Mohs scale.
Principle of operation of the Comex Roller mill
The feed material is fed from the upper main silo to the roller mill via a rotary valve and pre-compression screw. The mill rolls are driven by two motors with opposed rotation directions.
The feed material enters pre-compression screw chamber (from silo) by gravitation. The material is being compressed by the screw, which is operated by the motor. Furthermore, the feed material particles enter the grinding area in between the rolls. Particles are being crashed by the forces coming from the rolls. The forces are previously set and they are generated by hydraulic actuators. CRM type roller mills are designed for continuous operation in a closed circuit with static or dynamic air classifiers.
