OAX particle analysis system – detailed measurement results

The OAX particle analysis system developed by Comex allows both precise analysis of moving particles and their identification. The latter can be carried out in terms of material type or combination of materials, dimensions, shape, structure and position in the window analyzer.

You can use the OAX system both on a laboratory scale and install it in a continuous process. Particle analysis can be performed in the range of 0.5 mm to 500 mm.

How does the OAX particle analysis system work?

Regardless of whether you are conducting research on a laboratory scale or dealing with the ongoing analysis of particles from a given process, the material is delivered through the top vibrating feeder. A camera was mounted inside the OAX system analyzer. The photos are collected by the optical system in dynamic conditions. The system is operated by a computer based analysis package that uses a sophisticated software algorithm.

You can use more than 50 parameters to identify particles, such as color, material, size, shape, structure, diameter, perimeter, center of gravity, moment of inertia, particle orientation, aspect ratio.

You can use additional combinations of the above-mentioned parameters to distinguish the particles you are interested in even more precisely. Each of the particles has a specific position on the belt and shape, so you can easily use the precise rejection mechanism (compressed air nozzles) to separate them from the material flow.
